Music Monday: William Tyler

William-Tyler-Impossible-Truth

It’s been a while since we’ve shared any music with you guys, so here’s one of the AWE design team’s most recent favorite finds. Hailing from Nashville TN, William Tyler draws from a long tradition of American guitar music. His style is rustic and grand, lovely music to listen to on a nice Sunday drive. This video from the Martin Guitar Co. is a beautifully filmed showcase of Tyler’s raw talent. Happy Music Monday!

Sanders Bohlke: Ghost Boy

Ghost Boy

Singer/songwriter, Sanders Bohlke is one of At West End’s favorite young musical powerhouses. Since releasing his debut self-titled LP in 2006, Bohlke has offered an array of beautiful singles and EPs. Now, back with another full length LP, Sanders has once again proven himself as an impressive and versatile songsmith. Ghost Boy, released in December of 2012, is a stunning effort in songwriting and production. Building off of the ideas presented in his first album, Ghost Boy offers more layers to its sonic landscape and the result is a stunning release that showcases Bohlke’s amazing vocal range as well as his invaluable restraint. Stand out tracks “Lights Explode,” “An Unkindness to Ravens,” and the title track “Ghost Boy” utilize Bohlke’s ability to craft tragically sweet melodies that transport their listeners into Bohlke’s unique world of story-telling. Watch the video for Ghost Boy above and click the album cover to be taken to the Sanders Bohlke website where you can get tour info and buy the album as well as other merch. Happy Music Monday. We hope you enjoy and have a great week!

The video, posted by Pitchfork, was filmed last month at their annual music festival in Paris. We follow Ware and her guitar player as they stroll the Parisian streets and serenade each passerby with her 2012 track, “Running”. The stripped down production really highlights Jessie Ware’s beautiful vocals and showcases just what an amazing talent she is. We hope you enjoy and please feel free to let us know what you think.
